Don't Forget Tuesday.

Can you believe it’s nearly November already? And that Election Day is this coming Tuesday?  Time flies.  It seems like summer just ended.  Believe or not, many folks are expected to forget that Tuesday is Election Day. Go voice your opinion and be heard. Get ready for the weather to get cooler, also.

Fun at the Fair

I’ve always loved the fair! As a child I’d play the games and ride the rides over and over.  I still like to go but now eat the polish sausage every time I go and turkey legs. There was a ghost house at the last fair I went to. It wasn't like a ride. It was MUCH scarier than that. You walked blindly along these pitch black corridors. A horrible bloodied skeleton or corpse would suddenly smash against a cage. Even the floor was unstable because you had to step over things. Nobody leaves alive, the sign read, well, we did! Have fun at the fair.

Staying Educated

I think purpose of education is an essential part of any society. Without education, a society would not survive for long. The purpose of education is to teach, or pass on information, from one person to another. This is so important, because this is how we as a society are able to better the society in which we live. The benefits of education are endless. The personal satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment upon receiving a college degree is one that cannot easily be topped. College education is becoming even more important than it has been in the past. A bachelor's degree is now becoming a minimum requirement for many jobs that previously only required a high school diploma. There is much debate today on what would be the best way to reform education. Education reform means to make education better by removing defects. True educators are always thinking of more effective ways to enhance the way children learn. With the continuous change of growing population, economics, culture, family, and fad, there has to be continuous educational reforms to keep the society abreast with these changes. Regardless of the era in which education reform is thought of, the number one priority is the children. I feel future of education is very promising to the younger generations. From kindergarten through college many changes are brewing. On the horizon are things like smart objects, full-length online courses, and  devices designed to equalize education.

My Saturday is kind of free this weekend. I have some homework, but I took the day off work to see some sick relatives. Tonight I'm relaxing.  I have watched some college football today. Number 19 South Carolina beat number 1 Alabama. Sometimes success is all a matter of timing: the right coach, the right school, the right player. Opponents have had little chance against Alabama the past few seasons. Don't look now but LSU is leading at half time. This could give LSU a chance to be in higher top spot in the SEC. I think Alabama has plenty left, but they finally know that they aren’t indestructible. Arkansas gave them a warning, and South Carolina made it patently obvious. It’s going to be a very interesting battle for the SEC crown this year. This will be the talk at the barber shops next week. To those of you who don't enjoy sports this could mean more television time and money for LSU, Baton Rouge. Go Tigers!!!

Long sleeves needed

It’s getting cooler in the mornings. I went shopping today, in between taking care of some of my responsibilities.  It’s time to start looking for some winter clothes. My budget is having a problem fitting the look I want this year. The price of everything seems to put me in more of a looking then shopping mood. I am going to look at my old things and see what I can add to them. Sometimes an old outfit can look new and fresh by adding a new shirt, tie, a pair of pants, or belt. With just one item the look can be transformed quickly without spending a lot of time or money. I don’t have a lot of expensive thing hanging in my closest. I do have a hundred or so of neck ties. I am going to have to look for some green light specials or for some online deals on some items. I found that some places have Christmas decorations up already.  October just started yesterday.  I guess it’s time to put gifts on lay-a-way. Happy Holidays everyone.
